Rochester, NY seems to have been a popular destination for the people of Iffezheim. Merkel

Jacob Merkel: go here for more info on Jacob Merkel
born 27 July 1848 Iffezheim, Germany - died 30 Dec. 1916 Rochester, NY.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1867.
Married Elisabeth Ruff on 15 Nov. 1870 in Rochester, NY and they had 11 children. Jacob and Elisabeth are buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, NY.

born 8 June 1860 Iffezheim, Germany - died 31 Jan. 1928 Rochester, NY.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1882.
Married Magdalena Weber on 23 Sept. 1884 in Rochester, NY. Magdalena Weber is the daughter of Leonard Weber ( see Leonard Weber below). Anton and Magdalena had two children: Frederick Anton died as an infant and Maria Magdalena married Albert Clarence Fetzner on 9 June 1909 in Rochester, NY.

born 15 Dec. 1822 Iffezheim, Germany - died 5 June 1890 Rochester, NY.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1847. He married Sabina Zoller on 6 May 1855 in Rochester, NY. Sabina ( see below ) immigrated in 1854 so perhaps Eusebius and Sabina came to Rochester together. Eusebius married a second time to Maria Anna Aspenleiter on 21 Sept 1858 in Rochester, NY.
Eusebius Merkel is related to Martin Merkel below. Eusebius and Martin can trace their ancestors back to Laurentius Merkel in the 1600's.

Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1880.
Wife: Maria Zoller
born 6 Aug. 1847 Iffezheim, Germany
Martin and Maria were married on 7 Oct. 1872 in Iffezheim, Germany.
immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1880.

They had six children. Two or possibility three of their children came with them to Rochester in 1880.
Martin Merkel is related to Eusebius Merkel above. Eusebius and Martin can trace their ancestors back to Laurentius Merkel in the 1600's.

Cecilia Pfetzer: born 30 Nov. 1827 Iffezheim, Germany.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1854.
Cecilia married Florian Weber on 6 Aug. 1854 in Rochester, NY ( Florian Weber - see below - also came from Iffezheim.

Juliana Pfetzer ( cousin of Cecilia ) born 15 Feb. 1827 Iffezheim, Germany.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY prior to 1856. Juliana and Cecilia were both born in 1927. They may have immigrated together but I'm not sure at this time. Juliana did arrive prior to 1856 when she married George Weber on 24 Nov. 1856 in Rochester. George Weber is from Bavaria and is not related to the Weber families listed below.

*** Juliana's older sister Barbara Pfetzer married Caspar Merkel my Great Great Grandfather in Iffezheim. They both died in Germany but Caspar and Barbara's son Jacob Merkel ( see above ) made it to Rochester.

Florian Weber: born 4 May 1823 Iffezheim, Germany.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1854.
Florian married Cecilia Pfetzer ( see above ) on 6 Aug. 1854 in Rochester, NY.

Leonard Weber ( brother of Florian ) born 7 Nov. 1830 Iffezheim, Germany.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY prior to 1856. Leonard and Florian may have immigrated together but I'm not sure at this time. Leonard did arrive prior to 1856 when he married Maria Friedman on 4 Feb. 1856 in Rochester, NY.

Melchior Weber ( cousin of Florian and Leonard above ) born 28 Aug. 1839 Iffezheim, Germany.
Melchior married Maria Faßler (Fassler) in Iffezheim on the 16 April 1866. They emigrated in 1867. After arriving in Rochester, NY, the had their first child. Catharina Louise, born 8 April 1867 and a second child, Joseph in 1869. I'm not sure if they had other children.

Schmitt and Peter

Longinus Schmitt: born 14 Mar. 1821 Iffezheim, Germany - died 21 Feb. 1906 Rochester, NY. and his wife
Theresa Peter: born 15 Oct 1820 and their child, Mary A. born 23 Sep. 1846 Iffezheim, Germany.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1847. After arriving in Rochester, they had nine more children. Longinus and Theresa are buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, NY. Their daughter Anna Schmitt is married to Joseph Buechel ( see Büchel - Buechel - Buchel below).

Josephina Schmitt born 18 March 1822 Iffezheim, Germany ( sister of Longinus Schmitt above).
Her first husband was Kaspar Oesterle who died in 1847 in Iffezheim Germany. Josephina came to Rochester with her daughter, Maria. Her second marriage was to Michael Winter. ( also see Schneider below )

Büchel - Buechel - Buchel

The original German spelling of this name is Büchel. When Joseph and Anton came to America they took on a more American spelling of the name.

Joseph Buechel: born 2 March 1854 Iffezheim, Germany - died 28 Dec. 1939 Rochester, NY.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY approx. 1881.
Joseph married Anna Schmitt on 26 Apr.1887 in Rochester, NY. Anna Schmidt was born in Rochester but is the daughter of Longinus Schmitt ( see above )

Anton Buchel: born 2 Jan. 1863 Iffezheim, Germany - died 18 Feb.1957 Coldwater, (outskirts of Rochester) NY.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1888.
Married Anna Winhouser in Rochester, NY

Jacob

Aloysia Jacob: born 21 June 1831 Iffezheim, Germany.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1854.
Married Vincent Peter on 5 June 1854 in Rochester, NY.

Aloysia Jacob who immigrated to Rochester and Simon Jacob, who immigrated to Georgia, both come from the same Jacob line. They have their common ancestor in Nicolaus Jacob who was born in the 1680's.

Zoller

Sabina Zoller: born 28 Oct. 1829 Iffezheim, Germany - died 25 May 1856 Rochester, NY.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1854.
Sabina was the first wife of Eusebius Merkel ( see Eusebius above ). They were married on 6 May 1855 in Rochester, NY.

Agatha Zoller: born 2 Feb 1823 Iffezheim, Germany. She is the younger sister of Sabina Zoller above.
Immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1848 with George Baum and they were married in April of 1849 in Rochester, NY.

Balbina Zoller: born 30 March 1852 Iffezheim, Germany
Immigrated to Rochester, NY prior to 1873.
She married Antonio Heil on 28 Dec. 1873 in Rochester, NY.

Maria Zoller: born 6 Aug. 1847 Iffezheim, Germany

Joseph Zoller:( brother of Maria) born 30 Aug. 1839 Iffezheim, Germany
Immigrated to Rochester, NY 1880.
He was married to Helen Gress in Iffezheim. She died in 1871 in Iffezheim. He married Catherine Werner in 1881 in Rochester, NY.

Erhard

Ferdinand Erhard: born 31 May 1828 in Iffezheim, Germany
Immigrated to Rochester, NY prior to August 1855. His first marriage was to Theresa Schrier on the 5th of August 1855 in Rochester, NY. His second marriage was to Elizabeth ???? on 14 August 1859 in Rochester, NY. I haven't followed up on whether they had any children yet.

Schneider

Michael Schneider: born: 29 Sep 1829 in Iffezheim, Germany.
He immigrated to Rochester, NY in 1854 . Michael Schneider married Maria Magd. Winter on the 12 Sept. 1865 in Rochester, NY. Maria Magd. Winter is the daughter of Michael Winter and Josephina Schmitt. Michael Schneider and Maria Magd. Winter had the following children that I know of in Rochester: Odilia was born 1 Aug. 1866 and Franciscus was born 3 Dec. 1868.

Schwarz

Erhard Schwarz: born 12 Jan. 1831. The place of birth may be Wintersdorf, Germany. However, he immigrated to Rochester, NY from Iffezheim in 1852 . Erhard Schwarz married Rosina Bartholome on the 4 of Feb. 1856 in Rochester, NY. They had the following children that I know of: Theresa was born 27 Nov. 1857 in Rochester, NY. Frank was born 6 April 1859 in Rochester, NY. Anton was born 18 July 1860 in Rochester, NY. Luise was born 16 Nov. 1861 in Rochester, NY. Anna was born 21 March 1866 in Rochester, NY. I haven't followed up on this family yet.

Peter

Thomas Peter: born: 29 Dec. 1814 in Iffezheim, Germany. I'm not sure when he arrived in Rochester. He married Maria Anna Hirt on the 12 of Jan. 1837 in Rochester, NY. They had one child that I know of. Her name was Maria - born 3 January 1838 in Rochester, NY.

Francisca Peter ( sister of Thomas): born: 6 March 1821 in Iffezheim, Germany. I'm not sure when she arrived in Rochester. She married Jacob Minges on the 11 of Aug. 1840 in Rochester, NY. They had a daughter Amalia on the 10 of June 1861 in Rochester and Flora Juliana on the 12 of January 1864 in Rochester.

Frisch and Zimber

Laurentius Frisch: born: 10 Aug. 1810 in Iffezheim, Germany
Crescentia Zimber: born: 1811 in Iffezheim, Germany
Possible arrival in Rochester - 1832. They were married on the 28 of Sept. 1840 in Rochester, NY.
